Sweet White Sauce

This is a traditional accompaniment to Christmas puddings. Sometimes with the addition of alcohol - Brandy, Rum or Liquors.

Ingredients

Cornflour - 1 table spoon
Milk - ½ pint
Sugar - 1oz
Butter - Small knob

Instructions

Mix cornflour with a small amount of milk.
Add to the remaining milk.
Add sugar and butter slowly bring to the boil stirring well.
Gently cook until the mixture thickens, then gently simmer for 2/3 minutes until cooked out.
Serve warm (If adding alcohol do so at this point).
